University of Ljubljana was established in 1919. Its 20 faculties, 3 art academies and 3 university colleges boast 35,000 students enrolled in 130 undergraduate and 110 graduate and post-graduate programmes.

Faculty of Economics (hereafter FELU) is one of the University of Ljubljana's largest faculties. It was established in 1946. Through its activities the FELU positioned itself as a national leader and an internationally recognised education and research institution in the area of business and economics. Currently there are over 8,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral study programmes; 157 full-time faculty and 91 support staff are employed (with an increasing share of internationals in all of the above groups); and over 400 corporate partners involved in various FELU research, consulting and advertising projects.

By receiving the EQUIS and AACSB accreditations, FELU has been ranked among the world’s most distinguished business schools. The FELU’s aim is to become even better internationally recognized for its quality and achievements in education and research. Therefore English tracks have been introduced in all three Bologna study programme cycles, and foreign students can attend numerous courses in the English language, or enroll in one of the FELU's international programs.

Apart from education, research is a key activity at the FELU and a high priority given to research throughout the FELU’s history has led to a top quality research output. In its strategy, the FELU has positioned itself as the centre of excellence in the South-East Europe. As such, it acts as a bridge between the East and the West, building on its ability to source knowledge globally and transfer it to the SE European region and vice versa.

FELU’s key ReNewTown project-relevant competences include knowledge and skills in design, application and interpretation of the results of economic, qualitative and quantitative analyses. FELU has ample experience in coordination of international and national research projects as well as organization of international and national scientific and professional events. Finally, FELU has close ties with local, regional and national authorities, business community, media and educational as well as research institutions in Europe and beyond.
