Agency for development of Gemer region (SK)

Agency for development of Gemer ( further as Regional development agency - RDA Hnusta) region is an institution, which is bringing people, different public and private sectors and information together. Its aim as well as commission is to move the development of region forward, to make the people in and out of region to believe in the beauty and powerful nature of the region. Agency supports the activities in the area of acquiring domestic and foreign grants for development projects of particular areas as for example development of human resources, business, investments, education, development of infrastructure, environment, tourism, etc. and assist the applicants with the preparation and implementation of the projects and helps them with applicable law and rules.

RDA Hnusta been established as an Interest Association of Legal Entities, a non-profit institution, registered at the Register of the Interest Associations of Krajský úrad Banská Bystrica on May 22, 2008 by the Decree of the Government of Slovak Republic Nr. 1/2008/07562 and on the same date became the member of Integrated Network of Regional Development Agencies.

RDA has undersigned several agreements of cooperation between several municipalities, schools and Banska Bystrica self-governance region as well as the Slovak entrepreneurs association.

In year 2011 RDA Hnusta became a part of EURODESK regional information offices, and is providing help and assistance mostly young people with preparing their project ideas.

Focus of activity

The agency was established with the aim of initiation, realization and coordination of strategic activities for multilateral and dynamic development of Gemer region in the following areas:

  • coordination of the regional development with regards to operational programmes   of the National Strategic Reference Framework of the Slovak republic for the programme period 2007-2013
  • support of activities in the area of acquiring of domestic and foreign grants for development projects of particular areas (development of human resources, business, investments, education, development of infrastructure, environment, tourism...)
  • building of partnerships and development of cooperation with regional development subjects within the inter-regional and cross-border cooperation
  • raise of public awareness by organizing of trainings, seminars, workshops, conferences, classes, exhibitions and presentations of regional projects
  • information providing, counseling and consultancy in the area of drawing of structural funds of the EU and other financial resources
  • implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and projects for the regional development
  • creation and update of regional information systems and databases
  • promotion of regional development in Slovakia and abroad
  • support of foreign investments and establishing of business incubators and industry parks
  • developing non-formal learning tools
