The ReNewTown good practice database has been launched!

The criteria of choosing the revitalization projects included in the database were based on the most common problems of the urban areas with socialist burden identified in Central European cities. Special focus was put on the projects taking advantage of a socialist heritage in the process of rehabilitation. The database includes projects aiming at one or more of the following issues:

1. Improved provision of local cultural and social events,

2. Improved condition & quality of the public space between the blocks of flats,

3. Improved support for the development of small business operators in the area of blocks of flats,

4. Improved attractiveness of the architecture of the socialist buildings,

5. Improved involvement of the local community in events organized in its quarter,

6. Identified new functions for structures from the era of socialism (in 1945 - 1989).

The database is still in elaboration - up to now it contains 48 good practices but new cases will be added soon. It is also possible to suggest a good practice, which you consider as valuable to include into the database. In that case please contact:
