    1. Improved condition & quality of the public space between the blocks of flats.

      After the reconstruction a new day centre for the homeless will be created. The space of the centre will be renovated and the hard insfastructure of the town will be strengthened. A place for social inclusion will be created.

    2. Improved attractiveness of the architecture of the socialist buildings.
    3. Identified new functions for structures from the era of socialism in 1945 - 1989).

      The building will be used as a day centre for the homeless and the social inclusion of endagered group of people.


    The members of the town council approved renting of a dilapidated building in Mýtna street to the association. The association is allowed to use it for the period of ten years for a symbolic rent, i. e. 1 Euro. The association has to reconstruct the building, the estimated costs are 45,000 Euros. The building is located near the Main railway station where many homeless can be found. By the law the capital has to establish affordable day centres. The mayor Milan Ftáčnik (independent member of Parliament supported by the political party Smer) said that at least five such centres should be created in the city. The civic association OZ VAGUS aims at helping the homeless, people in financial and social need, and long-term unemployed.
