    1. What forms of cooperation were used as new approaches in the field of rehabilitation and conversion of urban functional areas?
    2. In 2007, the town of Hnúšťa, with the help of the financial funds from Ministry of Economy and European Union, bought the site from T-GUM Hnúšťa s.r.o. and is currently renovating the area under the project name „Industrial Zone of Hnúšťa.“ There are several manufacturing companies currently operating in the Industrial Park in Hnúšťa: - YURA ELTEC Corporation Slovakia s.r.o., operating in electrotechnical industry, producing wiring harness to supply KIA Motors Žilina a HYUNDAI Nošovice - RW Tech-Gum, s.r.o., operating in the engineering industry, with the main production for construction and traffic infrastructure – elastometric bridge bearings and extensions. - T-GUM Hnúšťa s.r.o., operating in the rubber industry, producing a selling of the rubber compounds and products from pressed technical rubber. Energy supplies and the services for Industrial Zone are provided by: - SLZ Chémia, a.s. – supply of electricity and wastewater treatment - Rimavská energetická spoločnosť Hnúšťa – supply of heat from a central source on the basis of heat production from the renewable fuels - Technické služby mesta Hnúšťa (Technical services of the town) – maintenance of the area during summer - Slovak Road Administration– maintenance of the area during winter

    4. In the socialist period, the town of Hnúšťa was a centre of chemical industry in the Upper Gemer region. Slovenské lúčobné závody š.p. started the production of wood carbonization chemically (dry distillation of wood) and related products. The project of revitalization of the industrial park in Hnúšťa follows the valuable legacy of the socialism by keeping the chemical industry in the industrial zone – T-GUM Hnúšťa s.r.o.

The criterion of innovativeness has been applied in full, because beside the existing chemical prodution in the industrial zone, there is an innvative manufacturing production in engineering and electrotechnical industry in operation. Products of these industries are demanded on the markets and that is a prerequisite for emplyment of the people living in the region and sustainable development.

    8. Revitalization of the industrial zone in Hnúšťa is beneficial for the local community especially in the field of employment and the related principle of sustainable development.

    10. Industrial Zone is located in the outskirts of town. During the period of socialism as well as at present, it is a part of the territorial integrity of the expanding town.

    14. The project of of industrial zone is intended primarily to expand production utilizing existing building and production capacities built during socialism.


    There are more than 6 000 people living in Dědina block of flats. The whole revitalization 3 -phases -process took 4 years and the total cost of the project was 11 200 000 EUR. It is one of the first completely reconstructed block of flats as far as the public spaces in Prague are concerned.
