    II. TYPOLOGY
    1. Improved provision of local cultural and social events.

      Since 2007, the broader public has been involved in the planning of public space regeneration within the process called "round table". The public might comment on proposed solution in the presence of the designer. Given the small space between the premises, a new venue for cultural and social events was not built because in close proximity of housing estate Spořilov there is a cultural house Jilm (former House of Culture), which was widened by extension (for better use of leisure time) in 2004 and therefore there is no need for another cultural venue at the moment.

    2. Improved condition & quality of the public space between the blocks of flats.

      The block of flats in question were divided into several parts and in each individual part the regeneration phase took place every year. With respect to the financial possibilities the heating channels were changed from the central boiler room, sewerage system and water service pipe were repaired, and the problem with broken surface of adjacent roads and pavements was solved. Thanks to the revitalization, the newly adjusted public spaces has acquired a new function and now serves as the ideal place for sport and leisure time activities as well as for meeting the other people.

    3. Improved attractiveness of the architecture of the socialist buildings.

      The subsidy program did not allow the support of business. Within the reconstruction of the unfinished house of services (under construction in 1989) into the house of home care (2002), the ground floor premises of the house were allocated for the provision of services.

    4. Improved involvement of the local community in events organized in its quarter.

      Since 2007, when the Jilemnice City has begun to apply the principles of Agenda 21 within its membership in the organization called Healthy cities of the Czech republic (NSZM), the participation of local communities in the preparation and regeneration of the block of flats has partly improved. Due to the disapproval of individual owners, the next phases of the regeneration of block of flats were not implemented.

    III. SUPPLEMENT

    There are 20 block of flats with the total number of 712 apartments in the area called Spořilov (the only block of flats in Jilemnice). The population of this area is 2000 inhabitants, which represents 1/3 of all inhabitants living in the town. Before the implementation of regeneration, the pavements and road surface had been shattered and the children´s playground had not been in the state of safe use. According to the original plan, 10 phases of regeneration should have been carried out , in particular focused on public spaces, playgrounds and parking lots. The part of the regeneration was the creation of the roof construction for the separated and municipal waste. A total number of seven phases of regeneration has been implemented, the remaining could not have been realized due to the disagreement of landowners.
