    III. DESCRIPTION
    1. What forms of cooperation were used as new approaches in the field of rehabilitation and conversion of urban functional areas?
    2. The aim of reconstruction of the former Presscenter building was to transform a morally and technologically outdated socialist administrative building erected in the 1980s to an A-class office building with services according to the current needs. In addition to office space, there is a theatre and a concert stage and premises for business operations with the intention of profit making.

    3. Was the building or the space between buildings) identified as a valuable socialist heritage?
    4. The building was built during the socialist era in order to provide administrative services. After reconstruction of the building , it continues to serve its purposes according to current needs, and thereby is identified with a valuable legacy of socialism.

    5. What criteria were applied to make this judgment?
    6. The criterion of innovativeness was appleid – the original administrative services are being provided in modern environment at a higher level corresponding to the current requirements. The principle of innovativeness i salso refelected in the added services – after reconstruction, there is a theatre and a concert stage as well as premises for business operations. The principle of portability lies in the providing of the services in the future, which is a prerequisite for implementing the principle of sustainable development in the area.

    7. Was the building or space between buildings) important to local communities and how were they involved in decision-making process about its rehabilitation or conversion?
    8. The project is important for the local community because it provides administrative s and business services , necessary for life in a modern society, but also provides services in the surplus value –services providing cultural life of the people living in the area.

    9. Were attempts made to improve territorial cohesion within the city/town/district? And, if so, how was success on this front gauged?
    10. The renovated building TOWER 115 is an integral part of the city.

    11. Were there attempts to reduced disparities between districts within cities/towns achieved reduced? And, if so, how was success on this front gauged?
    12. In the area, there did not exist differences between the neighbourhoods in the past and they do not exist at the present, either.

    14. When doing a new cladding, for the first time in Slovakia there was used a system of so-called elementary facade that created a smooth monolithic area changing itself under the impact of sunlight and the observer´s location. In 2008, the reconstruction of the TOWER 115 building was awarded the Dušan Jurkovič award.

    IV. SUPPLEMENT

    There are more than 6 000 people living in Dědina block of flats. The whole revitalization 3 -phases -process took 4 years and the total cost of the project was 11 200 000 EUR. It is one of the first completely reconstructed block of flats as far as the public spaces in Prague are concerned.
